The Art of the Food Gift

Food gifts are great. No surprise, coming from an author who owns a company like ours, right?
But let's talk honestly. When it comes to food gifts, Gemstone isn't the only game in town. We've ordered our share of food gifts over the years from various companies for family and friends and most have been good. From fruit to fine steaks to decadent desserts, there are lots of delicious choices.
However, one of the drawbacks to a food gift has always been the fact that, once it's eaten...it's gone. Sure, a person might remember a great pie or the taste of "the perfect pear". However, that's not the same as a lasting and tangible reminder of a special occasion.
That's where Gemstone comes in and truly creates a different kind of gift.
We believe the package is as important as the food inside. Why? Because as nice as it is to enjoy a sweet treat or a great meal, everyone likes something that lasts. People enjoy a reminder of an event and the people who care about them or remember them. Our GemBoxes create that keepsake that goes beyond the tasty treat of a gourmet cake or cookie.
Let's face it, even the prettiest gold cardboard box, with the name of one of the world's finest chocolatiers on it, is not going to sit on someone's desk or bookshelf very long after the eating of the final truffle. That can be especially important for a corporate gift. While the primary idea is usually to show thanks or appreciation, corporate gifts are also a chance to stay top of mind with a customer or client. There's no better way to do that than to have part of your gift prominently displayed in an office or home for years, not days.
So, whatever the occasion, and whether you choose a Gemstone or not, always remember that the package counts. The true art of giving a food gift may be...making the package a work of art!
